Squashed Cob consists or everything that we hold within ourselves. It is a creation of style, soul, passion and two Brummies who want to show the world their musical ideas and concepts. Majic and Spanners have been rocking it together for 3 years, building up a huge reputation around their local area and music scene. But with their new collection of tunes contained on the album titled "Always Remembered, Never Forgotten." these boys are ready to show the world exactly what they can do.

Squashed Cob formed back in 2006 in their home town of Stourbridge when Majic decided to push his music production into the live scene by teaming up with three other members, Spanners, Mitchell and Frazz. After working hard for several months in the studio (Majic's Flat), the four began to promote their work through both live shows around the West Midlands and hit radio pod cast shows that broadcasted all over the world.

With their big sound of Hip-hop/Drum and Bass/Break-Beat/Club and their own cheeky style put into the mix, Squashed Cob was a band that were described as, "musically refreshing"

But as everything began to kick off for Squashed Cob, tragedy struck as a close friend to Majic and the other band members was killed in an accident only four days before xmas, which lead to a complete halt to all band rehearsals and their live performances. Through this tough time Majic produced the powerful track "Live On", which is a tribute to his friend, and even though it put a stop to the live performances there was always talk of more production work to continue through the near future.

At the start of 2008 both Frazz and Mitchell decided to leave the band due to their own circumstances, but even though they aren't part of the live band they both still remain a support and great friends to both Spanners and Majic.

Was the band to finish????? errr NO!!!

Majic and Spanners got back into the studio almost immediately, creating new tracks and rearranging old tracks, to finally create one of the most original and professional sounding amateur albums to date. Not only has their sound developed into a mature style of huge electronic beats peppered with ground slamming rock guitars and solid vocals, they have haven't shown any weakness through the absence of their previous members.

So whats this album all about????

Majic - "For years I've always put my musical creations and productions on to a CD, to show and give to my friends and family. But today, with the ease of the internet and technology I can give everyone who wants it, access to my music, and this album without having hundreds of blank cds all over my bedroom floor, with my printer working on overtime."

"This collection of songs isn't a conventional album as such, we aren't a signed band with money behind us getting paid to produce or able to gain access to big studios to record our tracks. But with we have got, I feel that we have excelled our expectations, creating a CD that sounds professional but still has that new band rawness to it. From the massive orchestral first track "The Beast of Wollaston" to the spaced out sounds of "Tale of Discovery" this album will tell stories, experiences and create images and visions, taking the listener on a journey..... as well as kick them in the privates." (Majic laughs)

"We still used most of the tracks that were on the E.P from 2007 but they have been twisted ever so slightly for live performances as it is now only two of us performing. But even so we still have the privilege of working with Mitchell on the hugely dark and rude sounding "Filthy B" and also a guest appearance from the brilliantly talented voice of Robert Winnall A.K.A Robz on "No Way I'm Letting Go". I feel that if you want an album from a new band that's a cross between Prodigy, Gorillaz, Queen, Beethoven, Pendulum, Moby, Lemon Jelly, Bach, Bill Bailey…… then you going to love this. If not I'll give you your money back" (Majic laughs again)
